In the tissue engineering or regenerative medicine, people do need stem cells to seed on the scaffold for tissue repair. However, the stem cells harvested from tissue is far shortage in needs. In the study, a poly NIPPAm-Immobilized porous microsphere would be developed served as cell carrier and combined with a home-designed bioreactor for MSCs proliferation in dynamic circulation at a 3D condition. The results showed that the developed method could effectively increase the proliferation rate and keep the MSCs phenotype after 10-day expansion in the designed system. We do believe that the bio-system should have a great potential to be used for cell proliferation/expansion in the near future.
