Dr. Tsung-Yuan Tsai received his PhD of biomedical engineering jointly trained by National Taiwan University and Imperial College London. He has worked as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. Currently, Dr. Tsai is a tenured associate professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a researcher at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. He is a "Pujiang Talent" and "Magnolia Talent" in Shanghai, and was selected for the 2022 Shanghai Youth 50 People Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum. Dr. Tsai has been deeply involved in the fields of medical imaging and bone biomechanics, focusing on critical clinical issues in orthopedic diagnosis and treatment. He has published a total of 130+ SCI papers, including 60+ as the first or corresponding author, 50+ in JCR Q1 journals, including the top engineering journal “Engineering”, the top orthopedic journal “American Journal of Sports Medicine”, and has been cited 2,688 times on Google Scholar. He has applied for more than 90 Chinese and PCT patents. He has presided over more than 10 goverment fundings, including one national key R&D special project of the Ministry of Science and Technology during the "13th Five-Year Plan", three National Natural Science Foundation general projects, and two "Science and Technology Innovation Action Plans" of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, with a total vertical funding of 12.24 million RMB.
